THE POWER OF THE WORD 'NOW' IN BUSINESS1

August 18, 2015 05:25:11 AM

“NOW” is one word that is packed with so much energy. It is a call to move forward our pause to think, it is a definite call to action with urgency. It is also one word that can be intimidating at times and a word that is enough to make you second guess and put something off till the next day, the next time. In running a business or wanting to start one, the word now could make or break your run to success. The win-win situation here is to make that move. Act now and you can make that move by starting small.

It’s easy get caught up in the daily tasks that keep your doors open — because these are the actions that feed you. But what about the actions that’ll grow your company and eventually add to your bottom line? How do you juggle what has to be done right now and the strategy work that’ll move you forward?

Above is an excerpt of a message from Jamillah Warner of Small Business Trends. If as an entrepreneur, you have this idea that have been lingering in your mind, an idea that you think will help your company move even further , then it is time to make that bold step. It is fairly easy to fall back into the routine of things so you can try and give up an hour of that day to process this idea. Start small and start with you, study the pros and cons of the idea and develop the whole process in that hour you will spend in each day. After all things have been ironed out, slowly pull your staff/team in. Share the idea processed and give them their concrete action items to be part of the master plan. Moving a business forward can be challenging, use this to fuel your passion. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. So no matter what the challenge is, you will never know how great your idea would have been unless you actually try and implement them.  So before you end your day y, plan how tomorrow’s business day will be like and answer the following questions:

Do I have a business idea brewing in my mind?
When do I intend to sit down and make my project plan?
How much will it take, will it cost to keep this idea running?

“Even though you may have to start small to get some ideas off the ground, starting is the key.  Start small — but start NOW.”
