To jumpstart the entrepre-neurship movement, the Center organized Go Negosyo, a two-day summit, last February. The summit’s main objective was to put under one roof of a simulation of the entrepreneurship eco-system which supports entrepre-neurship in all critical stages of the entrepreneurs’ life cycle. This includes education, ideas-generation, business planning, seeding, start-up, expansion, and divestment should opportunity present itself.
One of the firms that partici-pated in Go Negosyo was MyOffice Business Center and Virtual Office. Sisters Milette Carlos and Tina Cuerva opened MyOffice in September 2004 when they saw opportunity to help new businesses cut down on overhead expenses.
“When you are starting your own business, one of the things you worry about is overhead expenses,” Carlos said. “MyOf-fice gives you the opportunity to concentrate on running your own business while we run your office, complete with a secretary, for you at a very minimal cost.”
Cuerva added MyOffice can come up with individual packages depending on the entrepreneur’s needs.
“For a very affordable fee, My Office offers all of the benefits of a traditional serviced office without the need to physically occupy any office space,” Cuerva said. “The services we offer range from the basic, such as prestigious mailing address or telephone answering to the more advanced, such as, meeting room for hire.”
Another plus that MyOffice offers is the fact that it is located in the central business district of Makati. Entrepreneurs based outside of Metro Manila may also be able to expand their base and maintain a presence in Makati at very reasonable prices.
“Some people might just need someone to answer their calls when they’re out on business meetings and we could do that for them,” Carlos said. “Depending on their instruction, we could either forward calls or take a message.”
Because of their belief in young entrepreneurs, MyOffice has come up with special packages for those who wish to avail of their services.
“We truly believe in the Filipino entrepreneur, especially the young entrepreneurs who could become tomorrow’s taipans,” Carlos said. “This is our way of helping them realize their dreams.
